[You feel a tug, insistent, demanding and desperate. Powerful enough that it seems it intends to rip you out of existence itself. And there is sensation of a barely restrained exasperated breath echoing in your ears you're taking too long, idiot...

Then it suddenly stops, the halted motion launching you face-first into a giving surface.]

[Knight!Thorn is clearly on edge. Child!Zero just looks confused at the name.]

[throwing Thorn a concerned look, but walking closer to little Zero and crouching down]

Are you okay?

[Knight!Thorn is just watching closely, NOT HAPPY. The fuzzy thing in the boy's arms squirms. You can now tell it's a snow leopard cub. It stares at you with shiny, bright silver-lavender eyes, as its silver collar sparkles with a gem from every team color. It chuffs happily.

The child turns away a little before the cub speaks up.]

"We're fine. It's good to see you, Snow-san."

Oh-- Thorn!

[w h a t is going on]

...What's going on? I mean-- it's nice to see you too!

[Cub chuffs again and paws at a bit in the child's arms. Knight!Thorn seems to be smiling slightly at the cub, though NOT LOOKING at the child.]

"What are you doing way out here?"

...Looking for stuff that's... out of place. Are you sure you're both okay?

[The child still looks troubled, though he also appears to be trying to hide it. The cub nods eagerly and squirms out of the child's arms to pad toward Ruka.]

"We're all right. You don't have to worry. What are you looking for?"

I'm not sure. The big one's been helping me figure out what's not supposed to be around...

[but the tiny :(((]

[Cub nods.]

"He's a good knight. You can trust him."

[Child is glancing at the Knight!Thorn warily and shivering more from the cold.]

Yeah... Ah.

[...addressing the kid]

...Hey, do you want to get out of the cold?

[Glancing down at the cub, who immediately speaks up again.]

"It's not that cold. Please don't worry. We have to help you find what you're looking for, right?"

...Yeah, that'd help. Come here--?

[opening his arms :( tinyyyy]

[Cub happily jumps into arms and nuzzles! Knight!Thorn looks pleased. Child is just watching.]

[FUZZY! cradles him securely in one arm and pets briefly, but then gesturing for the kid]

You too. Though you can walk by yourself if you want...

[Knight!Thorn looks UNSURE.]

"As long as he doesn't go inside."

Inside where?

[Knight!Thorn's eyes darken, as he stares down at the child.]

"Anywhere."

[Meanwhile, the cub just continues to nuzzle~.]

All right, we'll figure it out. We're outside now, though, so it's fine.

[straightening back up with the cub tucked along one arm, and holding his hand out for the tiny pointedly-- but smiling at him!]

[Child is also glancing at Ruka uncertainly now, but does take his hand.]

[smiles!! before looking at knight!Thorn]

Any particular path this time?

[Knight!Thorn nods.]

"Right."

[right it is! > Tiny and Fluffy have joined your party...?]

[As you head right, the snow gradually disappears as the air grows hotter. You eventually reach the exit. It is predictably blocked by more threads.]

All right. Little Thorn, can you hold cat Thorn for a minute?

[what is my life, why is this a thing I am saying]

[The child still looks confused at the name.]

"Do you mean... me?"
