[As you get closer to the river, the coppery scent heightens and you might experience a slight hitch in the back of your throat. In less unnerving news, you'll notice that the river is actually not as deep as it first seemed and will probably reach up to your waist. It shouldn't be that hard to cross.

Looking past the river, you can see three paths, one resembling Wonderland's checkerboard, one made of cobblestone and one that seems barely more than some trodden grass.]

[Cleanliness is next to godliness, after all.

The cobblestones are dull, dirty and cracked in some places. Many are overgrown with vegetation to the point where it's anyone's guess what they might have looked like before such neglect. You might have to watch your footing here and there, as it's easy to trip among the rough bits of pathway.
